The Magic of Mr Morgan

NRL x Anglicare Southern Queensland

In 1960, Lionel Morgan made history as the first Indigenous man to represent Australia in rugby league, going on to play three international Test matches that year.

In 2020, he lives in the same suburb he called home for decades, at Anglicare Southern Queensland’s EM Tooth Memorial Home, close to his family, friends and places he’s known almost his whole life.

We reunited him and his son, Earl, with his old friend, Preston Campbell, for a walk down memory lane and to capture a little of the magic of this rugby league legend.
